Bumps In The Road

Hi all,

Wrote and recorded this today - more chill laid back style this time. Feedback most welcome:

LYRICS:
Took a trip down memory lane
Hit a bump in the road
I took a sip from the river of pain
Got drunk from the wisdom bestowed
I turned around
Put a smile on my face
This hurdle
I’ll never replace
Cause each bruise
Took me to a place
With firm and fortunate
Life embrace

So thank you to
The bumps in the road
Cause you gave me the keys
To break my life’s code
So thank you to
The bumps in the road

Walked some more
Along the memory lane
Thought about if I’d take
The same road again
[And thought to myself, Hell Yeah!]
If I had to do it all anew
I’d take all the falls and the lessons too
I’d take a drunk from the river of pain
And get drunk by it’s wisdom again and again

So thank you to
The bumps in the road
Cause you gave me the keys
To break my life’s code
So thank you to
The bumps in the road

SOLO

So thank you to
The bumps in the road
Cause you gave me the keys
To break my life’s code
So thank you to
The bumps in the road
And thank you for the seeds
That you have sewed
From all those bumps in the road

Nice voice and nice composition. It all sounds good on my end through headphones. Nothing bad jumped out at me. The style reminded me of stuff we were writing 40+ years ago in a Country/Folk/Rock vein. This kind of laid back chill can be pretty powerful at times.
