I posted an original I did called "Bullet to the Head" a week or two back. The comments (FoulPhil's in particular) convinced me that the chorus was sluggish and took the piss and vinegar out of a potentially "rockin'" song. I came up with a new chorus and bridge, and I owe Phil a "thank you"... I think it's a hell of a lot better than the original. If anyone listened to the original and wants to weigh in on whether the new is an improvement, that'd be swell.

I can't tell if the mix has too much of the overhead, or if my earbuds are getting to me. Comments on the mix would also be appreciated.

Here's the new one:

Here's the old one, in case you're curious:

Thanks.

Lmfao, this song is sick. And hilarious. The new version is way better for sure. Not many songs make me actually laugh out loud, but this one definitely does.

Christ, you gotta be the first guy I talked to on here that thinks one of my songs is funny. Most of the time I get something along the lines of "disturbing", but to me they seem humorous, even if it's a "dark" humor. I don't think I could even write a song that wasn't at least partially tongue-in-cheek.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like the song.

You got rid of the boxyness but it might have been a bit too much. The bass kind of disappeared at moderate listening levels. Maybe a dB or two more?

Sounds good though.

Good stuff!

IF YOU ARE SITTING ON A CHAIR

AND SEE SOMEONE WITH STUPID HAIR

DON'T JUST SIT THERE AND GAWK AND STARE

BLOW HIS BRAINS INTO THE AIR

:laughings:

Like, of course, what else could you do?

Funny as fuck.

I probably cut too much of the low bass frequencies to keep it from being muddy. I agree, I can afford to put some back in. Thanks.

Hey, if my lawyer gets me the right change of venue, I'm walking on that charge! That's justifiable homicide in several states. :)

Thanks for the feedback.

I need to hear more of the vocal, the words need to be heard. :D There is a tad too much of the drum overhead. On the plus side, your drumming's improving a lot. :thumbs up:

Seriously, how the hell have kids been getting by without ever hearing such words? This is the kind of real-life advice that they refuse to teach in schools because of politics! Freakin' politics, man. :)

I generally only turn up the vocals if I don't think they can be heard and understood. Were you having a problem hearing/understanding them (any of them)? I have a hard time making that judgment because of my familiarity of my voice and what the lyrics are, obviously.

Thanks! I was able to get this drumming done in 15 minutes behind the kit, which was all the time I had. I had planned to start playing to a metronome, but that hasn't happened yet. Thinking about what I was going to play beforehand and keeping the fills simple worked wonders. There also may have been some luck involved.

Thanks for the listen and comments.
