Budget Mics

Its 2011,
a lot of new mics came out and I need to know.
What is a good budget vocal mic?
under 200.
Also Is it better to connect through a interface(that is not top quality) or just go USB mic

hey if i use the xlrto us b will quality fall? comare to justxlr through interface?

Yes he did tell you 4 mics to try, I was going to say the AT2020 or 2021. Personally, I prefer to avoid the Chinese made mics. The budget Japanese made mics are better than the budget Euro mics, me thinks.

Just for the record- "methinks" is one word. And- The AT20XX series *are* Chinese mics. As far as I know, there isn't a studio condenser mic on the planet that's less than $200 new, that isn't made in China, or at least the capsule.
In order to get to Audio-Technica mics that really are made in Japan, you have to go up to the AT40XX series. I bought my Oktava MK319 for $99 new, and it really is Russian, but those days are gone.-Richie
 
Karma Mics. Got a pair of them, K-Micro matched pair......really nice!!!. Very cheap tho, give them a try, you won´t regret. Sorry, I didn´t read you were looking for vocal mics. =(
 
Ya both the 219/319 are great mics if you can find one for a decent price. :)
