This has to be the worst advice I've ever heard on this board. He wants an all around mic. Why would you pick a dynamic? Dynamics suck for vocals, acoustic guitars, tamborines, shakers, and strings. Condensors are better at all those sources plus they work on all the things dynamics excel at.

Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad advice. This guy isn't asking for a live setup, he's asking for a recording setup.

Not quite right bro! I've done some very nice violin recordings with a dynamic MD441.
Many people won't hear the difference in sound quality when you record vocals with a Beyer M88 and a tube Neumann.

There are some very great sounding dynamic mics which will do a great job on almost anything, even tamborines and shakers.

I should have said "low to mid-end dynamics." The mics that virgoanmethod were recommending were low end AKGs suitable for live use only, IMO.

I still stand by my comment that it was the worst advice I've ever heard on this board.
