I have a Vs-1880 and it has a three band eq...crappy. I also was given a BSR EQ-3000 a while ago and just now thought that maybe i can hook it up to my vs-1880 and mix my post recordings better...can anybody tell me how to do this...Plus does anybody know anything abou these or where i can get some info...like a manual Note:::The back of the eq has a line in/out a tape in/out and tape two in/out...each out is also rec

That's a comsumer grade graphic EQ... not really anything you'd want to insert in yuor signal chain... VS eq will beat this easily...

True.

It's not wise to incorporate the BSR into the signal path into the VS as it will generate noise artifacts that will accompany the proc'd signal.

Shit, i had a feeling of that, i new it would cause some noise...but it's stupid that the vs has only three band eq? can you recomend me one (chap for the vs?

With recording, you'll generally want a Parametric EQ. These are generally only a few bands. Graphic Eqs are more often used in a live situation (or hooked up to my Grandpa's stereo system :) ) Search here or on Google to learn about the differences.

Not sure what type of EQ is on your VS, but I'm sure it's better than the EQ-3000 (sounds like something out of Sci-Fi movie!)

The BSR EQ-3000 is a terrific EQ to put on the tape monitor section of your receiver.

With onboard spectrum analyzer, pink noise and included feedback mic, you may use the 10-band stereo EQ section to flatten your listening/monitoring environment, considerably. That's well worth the price of admission, right there.

You may also employ it in an efx loop on your multitracker, by feeding it a -10dbV nominal line level signal on RCA connectors,... in/out of the "LINE" connectors on the back.

The EQ-3000 is also useful for a switch matrix between 2 tape drives, as well as adding EQ to the overall system.;)

can anybody tell me if i can install my BSR EQ 3000 with my Sony Reciever. I was thinking of connecting my two devices first with EQ 3000 tape 1 and tape 2 input and then line output to my receiver input. Does anybody it would work? i tried. But it did not work.

Yes.

If the receiver has a classic "tape mon" (tape loop/mon1>2) section on the Tape 2 in/outputs, then use that. With this configuration, you may EQ the output of the entire receiver, as well as add 2 AUX devices. 70's/80's design receivers had Mon/Tape-dub1>2/tape loops sections on them.

If the receiver does not have a traditional "tape loop" on Tape 2's section, then you may still use it as an input device, (or Tape 1 input), but then the EQ is simply an AUX/EQ input multiplex device for 3 Aux devices, (but you may not EQ the entire receiver's output in this configuration). Late 80's/90's receivers tended not to have Tape-Mon sections./DA

Eq 3000.

my sony receiver has 1 dvd input, video 1 input, video 2 input/output. And in my EQ, it has got line in/out. tape1 in/play, tape 1 out/rec and same for tape 2 as well. now if you can explain again how to connect 2 aux in my eq and then transfer sound to reciever and eventually to speaker pls. thanks

On older receivers,...

Tape 2 is set up as "tape-mon", which will output and inupt signal simultaneously in a "loop". More modern receivers don't have tape-mon-loop, so it goes on a case by case basis. Also if it's labelled (Tape 1>2) would denote a tape dubbing loop or setting.
