I broke my volume pot on my strat and fixed it with a 500k pot. It works but I've got the right one (250k) now should I put it in or won't it make a difference?

you running single coils or buckers? If single coils then put the 250 in.

It's a fat strat with 2 single coils and a dimarzio super distortion humbucker

then the 500 is OK in there.

The 500K is going to be a bit brighter, but either one will work. Use whichever one you want.
