Broken Monitor knob

The monitor knob on my Tascam 424 recently broke. Now the the volume is stuck on full, so it's unbearable to have headphones on now. IS there an easy way to fix this, or another solution?

As a super-temporary work-around, you could use headphones that have a volume attenuator built-in on the cord.

Or you could run the output to a secondary pre-amp and adjust volume there.

As far as fixing it.... I imagine anything's possible. I'll defer to the experts here on that topic.

You mean that the knob broke off or that the pod no longer works?

uh, to use that volume control you also would need one of these adaptors:
1/8" Stereo Jack to 1/4" Stereo Plug Headphone Adapter - RadioShack.com

and then if your headphones are only 1/4" plug, then you'd need also 1/4" female to 1/8" male adaptor as well .... Stereo Inline Adapter, 1/8" Jack to 1/4" Plug - RadioShack.com

Just the knob wont respond anymore. The volume is stuck on full as much as you twist the main monitor knob. I'll try the seperate volume devices.
