Up until now, I've always recorded keyboards using their preset (built-in) sounds.
Correct me if I'm wrong: Now, it seems like the standard is to buy a midi controller, record midi channels into a DAW, and then use computer-based samples to play back the performance.
Is this correct?
Can one buy decent stereo pianos, strings, and organ samples and utilize them for quality results? Is this really the preferred method? Thanks!
