If you read my last thread asking for feedback theres one thing i learned was to try and add more hip-hop elements. So here i kept it simple with just a fat bassline some keys and a tight drum loop. Next time I post a beat I hope to progress a little more and add a sample but baby steps right? Trying to learn to compose a beat myself first before I rely on a sample to help fill it out. thanks for your time guys :listeningmusic:

I would give it a listen, but prefer not to download. Can you put it on soundcloud?

Sounds good, reminds me of a Biz Markie tune. Is there any way to give the bass a little attack? Sounds kind of blunt right now, maybe a little click when it hits a note or something like that would do the trick.

@easlern Thats an easy fix i can definitely give it more attack to pierce through the mix though. I appreciate the time you took to listen and respond !

Looks like link is broken on the last post?

Awesome album by the way, there are a lot of talented people on here. . .

Okay, heard it that time. Guess I would want to ask where you are going with this? Do you plan to have a rap vocal over it? By itself I found it repetitive and not engaging. The baseline didn't develop. Overall it seemed to want more variation to keep the interest. I'm no expert in hip hop beats or what goes into them, but the kick was really prominent. Too much for me. Maybe if you had a better sounding kick. Anyway those are my reactions.

There are a few people who post hip hop stuff on at the Clinic. You might give them a listen to compare what you are doing.

Good looks dude I appreciate the bluntness and the time you took the write a response. Im not really going anywhere with this its just me having fun practising a beat soaking up feedback like yours to put in the next beat. And YES Im making beats for the intention of me rapping over them again thank you for your words and I will definitely check those guys out thanks a lot ! :listeningmusic:

I took a listen to this and I have some thoughts and ideas for you to improve on this.

1) I would soften the kick. Right now it just takes over the whole track and it's really not a pleasent listen.

2) Get a deeper bass and develop the groove. It's lacking the punch I usually like with hip-hop tracks.

3) The piano could also use a small fix with some reverb, higher mid and lower highs.

You should add more tracks for a more rounder sound than what's currently going on! Take this to consideration!

With love <3
