looking at the schematic and back panel info it looks like it'd be just a wall wart type transformer supplying +/-~18Vac at 200mA max. It just has a wierd (telephone type) connector on it, so the external supply is by no means a "special" box or anything. As for whether it comes with the unit... I don't know for sure, but it would be pretty mean of Rane if it didn't!

...great, clean "straight-line" mic pre with ample gain...it's been called the "John Hardy Jr." because of it's clean sound...and yes, it comes with that weird telephone-type connector power source...I have both the Rane and the Brick...the Rane gets more duty... ;)
