hi im really new to this... ive been playing guitar and writing songs for some time.. and i decided i should start recording my own stuff so people can hear what i sound like.. i really dont even know how to start... what i have to work with right now is a behringer amp and a computer... lol ya... i know you guys are like professional and all... but im wondering what i should do to get some ok sounding recordings.... a very simple setup, a simple way to get guitar from an amplifier and vocals recorded digitally onto a computer... right now ive just been using a mic to record both my amp and voice at the same time lol you have no idea how little i know about it all soo... any kind of advice for getting started with this would be GREATLY appreciated :D

this would have been better posted in the newbies section. BUT. you need to decide if you want to go the computer route, or the console route. if you go the computer route you'll need some good mics and a decent sound card plus a decent computer. if you go the console route, you'll need a console that you can figure out and some decent mics. i suggest you read a lot in the newbies section. do searches for your questions.

good luck.

Nicole has given you some good advice, I will give the standard response to go to the Tweakhead site and read what is stated there. It is an excellent source for beginner or advanced recordists.
