Julia…
all the work on the first five songs for “Alcyone” were recorded on
The BR8, no loops, little editing, no computers (except for rec.) and
No bouncing…using my much loved
korg triton ….and recorded with an optic Toslink cable into my soundboard (sb live) to HD… except “Forest run”…..which in contrast was recorded direct output Triton-soundboard
(SB 32awe!) no BR8…..sometimes think it sounds warmer!
The BR8 is a really fun entry machine for solo (ish) musicians, quality
Is fine…I get along ok with the 100 zip..tidy, safe, and as long as you don’t
Use to many v tracks its ok for a 5/6 minute song (for me)….but then sure
If you can afford larger versions with more inputs and tracks, go for it!
It would be nice to record instruments simultaneously…two keyboards. (in my instance!) the final optial recordings seem to be ok but maybe too clean.
My effects and mixing talents still need brushing up….so it could be me!
Conclusion. If its what you can afford & you play solo, ..buy…otherwise
If you are really serious with your music Invest in one of the larger Roland models.
….its great to
Hang around this really informative crowd…can learn so much.
Fun..smiles, thanks to all.
