Yes. You can pan the vocal track all the way left, taking the left line out... either through an outboard compressor, or just connect the left line out to the right line in. This should automatically select the stereo line in effects and source. Two new tracks (stereo) will light up for recording, so just choose one track button and press it to kill the other.
You need to record the vocal to a new track(v-track) "Panned all the way right for recording". So once you've selected the new track, it turns flashing orange, indicating "record ready" Make sure to pan it right, so you dont pickup the original vocal track you're compressing for this track.
Now you can use any of the cosm effects chains you choose, in the "IN Normal" configuration, for this new track.
You can go into edit...at the chosen effect, and narrow down just exactly what you want as far as compression, provided the effect you choose has compression in it's chain.
For any cosm effect, cursor down to "edit" to see how the multi effects are chained together. Then cursor to the individual effect you want to edit, in this case, {compressor} and click the "yes" button to get started making changes.
Try it out. ~Z
