Bouncing problem

OK i recorded a guitar solo on one track with the effect input on "normal" and then i tried a different effect that i liked so i decided to bounce the solo with the effect onto another track. (The only way to KEEP the effect -other than the one you recorded with- is to do this procedure) Problem is, on the first track (the one with the solo) the guitar sounds great. When i bounce it with the effect the bouncing track sounds terrible- i dont know if its static or distortion. I watched the levels so thats not the problem. Why isnt the bounce sounding EXACTLY like the first track?? I mean isnt that what going digital is all about? Please help!

Was the effect you were recording a stereo one. Like reverb stereo delay, etc. Because it's stereo you need to record all to 2 tracks. If you record only 1 then you will go to mono not stereo and only half the image of the effect. Get it? Course it could be something else. Nevertheless it would sound lousy compared to the original. Distorion hhhmmmm. Not sure. If not levels then dist effect on by accident? How do you bounce with this thing. It doesn't show in the brochure. You just hit record and everything goes to what ever track has red led on?

Not familiar with your rig; however, can you bounce the track and THEN ADD YOUR REVERB WHEN YOU MIX IT DOWN??

I use two reverb boxes and can plug in different verbs when mixing down. I'm using the Yam MD-8 and your box should be similar except I can record on all 8 tracks if I need to which I never need to.

Hi Shana

Im not familiar with the br8 either
but if its analog your never going to get the same sound when you bounce just worse

digital on the other hand wont lose quality
