Bounce clips = File degradation?

can somebody clear this up for me? when editing a clip using cuts and pastes and moves, am i "reprocessing" when i bounce them down again to one big clip?

and as well, is this happening when i'm changing the trim levels?

Define "reprocessing".

Yes, when you bounce to clips, a new .WAV file of the compiled track is created, so in that case it is being "reprocessed". But, this is a digital process being done by a computer using 32-bit floating point internal logic. So unlike a human, the processed clip is exactly the same.

Trim levels, volume and pan levels are ignored when bouncing to clips.

So go for it. There will be no degradation of sound quality.

If you really want to idiot-check the process then take a copy of the track with all the cut and pasted clips in it. Bounce this one to clips as you have been doing. Reverse the phase on the bounced clip track and solo this with the original track.

If you hear total silence, this proves that the tracks are identical.
