I was thinking along the lines of the C-3

Yeah, Mine too! There's always the doghouse though, if it just wasn't February!

Been there done it!! To be honest with you, sleeping in the doghouse is quite comfortable nowadays.I usually use a auralex bass trap as my pillow and auralex sheets as my mattress.I unscrew the body of my ntk and use it as a beer bong. Considering I want to be self sufficient, and of course I'm hard headed and I don't want to give in to the wife I have spent plenty of winters out in the doghouse.Let's just say my doghouse is equipped and ready to go when the shit hits the fan.

8th street music quoted me a price of $169.95 on the v67. That price includes the shockmount and shipping, so it works out to around the same price as Mars and quite a substantial savings over the SP C1.

I never figured out if the v67G was differnet than the v67m. I bought the v67m from mars last night. According to the spec sheet,
the m is a few mm longer and wider. also the v67m has a different frequency response curve on the sheet versus the v67g spec sheet. who knows.

It's probably just that the specs that come with the mics differ from what's posted on the Marshall website. That often happens after there's been a revision of an original model.

I bet the spec sheets that come with the V67M and V67G are identical.

C-1 on piano

I recorded a 90 year old Steinway grand several weeks ago with the C-1 and an Oktava 012. The 012 got the high end and the C-1 the bottom. Both were about 18" away from the end of the strings and fanned out 15 degrees. It was a patriotic medley that came out great, the pianist is selling the CD-R's like hotcakes. Email me at res07i6x@verizon.net and I'll send you a clip.

I emailed the Marshall Electronics division yesterday asking them if there was any difference between the V67G and the V67M (besides the color) and they said "It's the same mic." So, I bought one. Thanks Lopp for bringing it to my attention.

someone mentioned a price of $169.99 from 8thstreet...
http://www.8thstreet.com/Product.asp?ProductCode=7727&Category=Microphones lists it at $199.99.
why the difference? i want to save some cash!

The 8th street V67 comes with the shockmount ($50 at MarsMusic) and free shipping. They list a price of $199.99, but they came down to $169.95 when I asked them about matching the Mars price. If you don't need the shockmount, then Mars is still the cheapest way to go.

Oh, and I asked SamAsh and AbeMusic about matching the Mars price, but no dice.

If you happen to be near a store in california they are all going out of business and you can pick up the same mic for even less!
