boss rc-2/rc-3 question, please help!

I have tried and tried to find the answer to this with no luck
Say I'm playing live and I've recorded a loop for the 1st verse, I stop the loop when I hit the 1st chorus. Once I get to the 2nd verse and want to play along with the loop I've just recorded during the previous verse do I just hit the pedal and that loop will happen?

Don't know but you'd assume there are two modes - overdub and playback snd you can some how tell it which one to use. I have an RC50 which allows you to program just about anything you can think of.
