hi!
I've been using the Boss GT-5 for a few years. sounds very good. I also use it to record direct to my pc. now I need a new one. I've heard good things abut the POD, an my question is
-is it better than boss(gt-5, GT6) live and recording?
-pros an cons

thanks!!

sorry about my english, no lo escribo muy bien =\

hope this helps, i just bought a j station and i love it, my friend has a pod and i love that to but for the price difference there is only one choice, the big J. just my opinion

As my name suggests Guitar is not my main instrument but about a month ago I bought a BOSS GT6 and i have to say I'm very happy with it. At first I had a bit of trouble getting the sounds I wanted but very soon I was able to find Boss patches and my own that sounded just great. I have tried recording it direct and through an amp, both sound great. Whether you like the sound of the unit is personal choice, but the sound QUALITY is excellent.

Then again i've never used a POD though, so can only give on e side of the argument. I keep meaning to try out a Bass Pod but i've never liked effects on basses....maybe I should open my eyes a little.

Get a Digitech Genesis 3 for $199.99 at Mars Music or Musician's Friend. Free shipping in the US too!

The Genesis 3 smokes the POD, as the POD is a too muddy/dirty sounding. The effects of the Genesis are better, better AD/DA conversion, digital output (like the GT-6) and the Warp function is hella cool. Check out the Genesis 3 HERE

I would go with any one of the suggestions OVER the Boss stuff. Boss always overprocesses their patches and that comes thru on your recordings. I used to have a GT-3. The thing was built like a tank, but it was bulky and everytime I posted a new song I got the same response...cool but the guitar tone sounds overprocessed!!! No matter what I did. I sold it on ebay and picked up a POD 2.0 and I dont get that response anymore and I am totally satisfied with it. I have also read good things about the J-station and also the V-amp but I have not used them.
