If the tuner is such a pain in the ass, why not tune low E by piano, and do the rest from there? Or tune along with a piano. I really don't see a point to chromatic tuners.

when you're gigging with a rock band they come in more handy than a grand piano.

i use a tuning fork myself.

It's a good idea to always use a tuner to eliminate error that could come from tuning by ear. And have everyone use the same tuner...just in case. Your band will sound tighter when everyone is in perfect tune.

I bought this tuner to use it onstage.. tuning quietly without the whole place hearing it in between songs if necessary.

My singer suggested it... i've always tuned normally by ear didn't care if the crowd heard it. But I thought i'd give it a try.

I went to practice tonight with a better guitar cable.. i think this fixed the problem. Thanks everybody for helping me out!!!

The guitar cable has that much impact on sound?

Maybe I should stop using the cheap $5 pink ones at the guitar store.

Wanna hear a funny story about a guitar cable?

I went to Guitar Center about a year ago and grabbed a 10' cable off the wall. Didn't look at the price... how much could it possibly be???

It was $40... ouch.
