Right.

As of today I'd agree with you but I don't think it will be long before it can.

If it reaches the point where this Aurora singing can be cloned, I think we're sort of fucked. Until then, everybody sing!
I understand your point of view here but I wonder how people will feel about this as time passes. I don't find many, if any (consumers especially) questioning the use of 'fake' drums for example (such as Superior Drummer) and I don't think they really care how they are produced as long they sound good. Nobody I know that uses them feels the need to declare it's use and more likely it is a source of pride when a great drum part is programmed.

I don't mind if they feel proud. Nor do I care. I just want any feedback you'd like to give on my mix. I'm about to go to press. ?

This is exactly what I was feeling having hijacked your post. I'm not really sure why I've done it and apologise to you and will delete it all and leave my mix thought.

Sorry about that, lesson learnt ?

No, no need for that - I think off-topic excursions can be really interesting sometimes. (And what were we supposed to do? - start another thread in another forum?) So if what I said triggered you, that's unfortunate, because I like the things you post. I think the reason you wanted to talk about it, and the reason I responded, is that the whole topic of how tech is used in music creation is really interesting, and more than that, important even. If we could have this conversation face to face, this would be so easy to deal with. What's your pleasure - a beer, or a matcha?

Aww, it's already done.

Me too! sometimes.

(That way lies madness!)

Perish the thought, not triggered by you at all.

For sure!

Got to be a beer! Had a matcha once, didn't care for it. Took six beers and three Irish coffees to get the taste out of my mouth...

I like the new mix, sans click.

Very clean sounding, and the stereo field is nice.

I do think the lead vocal could come down a couple dB, and the entire mix is a bit 'loud', for the genre IMO. Not sure what limiter you are using to pump up
the volume, but I think just dropping the vocals a tiny bit (not a lot) might help out the overall mix and the way the limiter is reacting.

Maybe reduce the organ level a tiny bit, and EQ out some upper mid range to make it a little less jabby / stabby.

Otherwise, I think it's great!

I just wanted to add, your mix translates really well on different speakers. Sounds good on my 3.5" and my 8". I struggle with that big time on my mixes, so whatever you are doing, keep doing it.

Thanks, Em - that's really helpful. (y) 8-)8-)(y)

Okay, I can't get any further with this one, so here it is - there's a point at which you just have to sign off on it. This thread's got the whole mix evolution of this tune. I'm not going to tweak it anymore, cuz it's done, but I'm still open to mix comments because I can use that for the next one. Thanks for your input or your ears or both.

I think sometimes I hang on to a project because I enjoy working on it so much... I really appreciated following the evolution of this one of yours, I think the end result is fantastic!

Just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words! :giggle:

I have no idea why I felt a tendency to go gospel, but taking it to church seemed like a good idea the second time. I've been playing a lot of Aretha Franklin lately.

Very good one of your best. Atmospheric and really good vocals harmonies are spot on would make a great song in a TV show

Sounded amazing on my laptop, both the vocals and the guitars. Loved the composition too!
