I just copped that music powers book a minute ago. Hopefully it will be as good as the testimonials say it is. I already had the indie bible which has loads of contacts, but i wanted something with more info directed towards rap and selling beats. I'm excited!!

i had it as soon as it had the off the press ..

Man i'm bout to read the mess out of that book when i get it. I'm going learn everything i can and then i'm gonna start selling beats for $1000 a pop because i can make stuff worth way more than that. I really don't have a large set of beat buyers in this area but i know people that stay in other places. I got a homeboy in atl and i know the buy beats real high in atl. I think imma stop puttin stuff on my soundclick site to try to sell. I wanna do it all face to face because i have no clue how i would do the contract thing over the net. I thought about sending the contract thru the mail for them to sign and they send it back but they might scan the contract, change some stuff around, then sign it. I don't know do yall think i should post any "HOT" stuff on soundclick?

sell track on the Net is real slow..I say do both you never now who peeps you site out from word of mouth..and the Contract thing..i send the contract in a file and tell them to make 2 copies and send back 1 that they signed and keep the other for there records..push u also can put it in a .pdf file..

if you get a signed copy back form them and they try and change something on their copy it wont work cause you have the signed a signed copy from them..a contract is valid until both parties sign it..have them sign 1st them send the the contract back with the track signed by you..

it alot of ways you can do it to make sure nothing is changed..1 is have them get it notarize..
 
Man you always got good advice knot! The dj/hip-hop/rap/beats forum is where its at! I just got my book. GREAT BOOK!!! I'm usin that bad boy to re-write my contract. Imma use the quasi sell method. I don't wanna sell outright. I wish i would have known some of that stuff before i sold beats for $20. I got 2 repeat buyers that want beats and they ain't sign nothin last time. I hope i don't scare em off with my new acquired business sense. :) (I'm reading that book everyday!)
 
if they get scared tellin them that this is a business and you need to cover your ass..on the profits you make..yeah some people run off over the mention of contracts/agreements.. but if they loving your music and make sure you explain to them what theay are signing..then it shouldnt be any problems..

if you need any contracts i might have something for you..
