Bluebird Mic/tc electronic/logic query

Just a quick potentially noob-tastic query!

Running a bluebird mic, into a tc electronic konnekt 6, into an imac with logic 9.

Simply put, the signal is very quiet, even with the logic mixer and the interface slider to the top.
I use the phantom power, and also the 12db boost...even then its very quiet and requires me to add a compressor to increase the gain.

Is this normal or am I missing a trick somewhere?!

a quick look at the pics of the konnekt tell me u wana have the gain up, and you want to adjust the input/daw balance.
i guess it's the same as the mbox where you set it to input to hear the mic 'live', but you set it to daw for playback?


if that's all fine, i duno what the problem could be but the first things i'd do are

try a different mic
try a different cable
try the same mic and cable in a different interface (if possible)

I totally did not see or use the input/daw dial. This also explains why recording electric guitar straight into the interface failed pretty miserably!
