does anyone know if there is a site, kind of like the blue book of automobiles but for the value of instruments/amplifiers?

Don't know about a web site but I've seen the book at Barnes and Noble. Don't know the name but it's essentially a blue book for instruments. It was lumped in with all the other guitar instruction and music books.

In my experience the money a guitar is worth depends very little on what the blue book says. Believe it or not, eBay seems to be a very good indicator of what something is worth, or at least what the majority of people are willing to pay.

What are you selling or buying?

YMMV

thanks for the info.
im not selling or buying anything, i just have an old ibanez les paul and was told it was worth alot of money and wanted to see if there was any truth to that.

I'm not sure if Ibanez does this, but some manufacturers have this information on older instruments... I know that some dealers also have booklets that they have made of going prices of vintage instruments that they commonly deal...
