Anyone tried the "Blue Ball" mic? If so, for what application and how do you like it?
Thanks,
Thanks,
I haven't tried either, but there's two versions: a dynamic and a newer one that's a condensor.punkin said:Anyone tried the "Blue Ball" mic? If so, for what application and how do you like it?
I had a chance to try the Blue Ball not to long ago... I tried it on kick, bass amp, and guitar amp... and I didn't like it at all. IMO, the Blue Ball has no balls.punkin said:Anyone tried the "Blue Ball" mic? If so, for what application and how do you like it?

sold mine right away. overpriced! overpriced!
buy a decent "tom mic" or some other smallish dynamic. pop the thing open and take out the capsule. $29 for the mic (or so)
then buy some sort of ball. hard probably. so not a wiffle ball. go to a thrift store, find something round and hollow.
mount capsule in ball.
i think you'll get the same sound.
