I used the baby bottle for awhile with various results, as far as room noise, if you have 500 or 600 to get this package you should have 100 for an auralex roominator kit or something. I'd say get the mic and ditch the pre, when I used this I ran it through a presonus blue tube, and I'd take that in a heart beat before the pre your talking about. I'd personally recommend a joemeek 3q and an AT4040 for that price, or AT4033, you'd probably even save money this way and get a more pleasing result
It seem's to have the same capsule and electronics as the original Baby Bottle but with a different head and grill. It's a little bit cheaper than Violet Dolly or Baby Bottle (look for older ones, the new are chinese I think, there must be some information on serial n#'s regarding this matter). These have very low self noise of 5.5 dB-A.
