Hey, Philgood, Thanks!

As I said to Dogman (take a look on messages),

I use my MXL 2003 with mods you suggest me!  For use on acoustic, that´s the result, which I like too!!! The mic is much more "fat" and better now.
Well, my pre is a crappy behringer 2200.It´s a harsh pre in "all frequencies", but my solution was micing all the guitars with only one mic and on bridge (on solo ,above).

Thanks, one more time!

Ciro

Just listened to it again. It all works fine! A very professional sounding recording!

Really cool version of this song!I especially liked the phrasing of the vocal melody on the solo guitar, gave this song a kinda happy almost be-bop/jazzy feel, while to me, the original song with McCartney's vocal was kinda melancholy or sad.Great job...a very enjoyable listen!!

Thanks, Variax

Altoug i´m not a "real book" jazzist, I spent some time years ago learning a lot about improvisation.
I did it on solo
And if you know the original, you´ll see that is the same Mc cartney´s (great) "english/country line" :D (or, at least i tried...) :)

Wonderful. The double tracked backing guitars make it very full. The lead lines are articulate and expressive. Reminds me a little of Chet Atkins' style, which I liked a lot. And there's just enough hot licks to impress without overdoing. Really well in tune... I don't mean the adjustment of the guitar, but playing technique, which can so easily pull things out of tune. Top notch playing and a quality recording.

At :19 there's a slight edit pop on the right side.

WOW! That is AWESOME! I had no idea you played acoustic that well. That was just fantastic. I'm downloading this, and I almost never download anything even if I like it. Good stuff, CIRO.

HI, RAMI!

I remember you did KILLER version for a song of same album.
Thanks one more time, my friend, I was here only taking advices to another mixes and was a little disappointed with my acoustic recordings (but, hey, i´m primarilly a musician or what? :D ). And after listen a Rick Sheppard version for another old song, he "inspires me" and I imediatly take my guitars and did it.

THANKS, BUDDY!

Thank you TIM!!!

I´m very happy to hear it from you!
You´re right, I love country and chet (altough i´m not a "specialist"),the album of him with Mark Knopfler is one one best things I ever heard ! (only to you know,my favorite north american player is Larry Carlton). Do you know him?

Thanks one more time!

Funny you'd mention that. Not to change the topic of the thread, but when I listen to that album I put some songs on repeat and can listen to them for hours. For instance, "Some Changes Made" always gets me. All of them do I guess.

Great guitarist.

Ciro, are you a working pro guitarist in Brazil? Sounds like it. Really interesting to hear you play after reading all your previous posts.

I´m thinking about now... maybe my posts suggests more an "engineer" view, no? (altough not a "pro", I´m a very curious one) :D :D

Hi friends!

I´m listening here a lot of versions of some great old songs.
I record "my version" today. It´s a very beautifull and known song of Beatles (White Album), "Blackbird".
I did an Instrumental version ("small version"), playing with two different acoustic guitars, both with "old" strings and miced on a "non tradicional way", (only in bridge region and above, no mic on neck).

Hope you enjoy ! (and hope that the link works...) :)

Hey CIRO,

I have had trouble getting to listen to this tune, but finally I had success!
All I can say about this rendition is that all the guitars are sounding so sweet and warm. The clarity of the melody playing guitar is superb.
I really enjoyed my listen to this CIRO, very well played and the recording is sounding sweet to me!
The fullness and the ambience this recording emits through my speakers is great!! :)

What gauge strings are you using CIRO?....Are they fairly light 9-42's?

Nice work CIRO.. :) :)

Thanx for sharing this effort of yours with us!

Gorty :)

CIRO,
I usually don't deal with covers BUT there've been a couple of late that are inspired & I had no option but to listen & comment.
This is one of them.
Bloody good pick'n.

I only listen to & critique covers.

I typically don't like ~wank~ versions of classic songs, but it's a very good recording and some pretty fine playing. However, my preference would be for a vocal line where it should be. I'd rather listen to a less than perfect vocal performance than the slickest instrumental adaptation of a vocal line.

That's more of a nitpick, but overall it sounds good. ;)

GORTY!!

About the strings...you´re "almost" right.
I´m using two guitars. The rythmn one is a Yamaha with .10 and low action(on first ...10 frets, more or less). But I don´t like it for solos.

And melodie I play on a washburn "Craig Chaquico" model with .10 and a "ultra low action",then you have a sensation of .09.

That´s my favorite strings/action setup.
And, to you know...old strings (3 months, altough I´m not playing everyday) (but, hey no "rusty" on strings)

That´s my favorite strings/action setup.

Thanks one more time, Gorty!

Solid effort!

Great Guitar playing and great recording :D

Great work Ciro mate

Tremendous work, i love this song, always have done...its one of those that i do at parties and the like, always impresses people...next party i have your invited, though i might be ashamed to show my face around the guitar again...outstanding version, great melody work and recording of the song. I thought in the opening chords it was all going to be quite chordal and strummy, not using the fingerpicking syle that macca uses on the white album. But i was pleasently suprised. im downloading this also.

GUMMBLEFISH:

Believe me, to me it´s almost impossible to do the same "stacatto" chords type that Mc cartney did on record (and he plays it so natural...)
Then, I tried used a more "country kinda " rythmn.

I´m not sure that alredy listen your songs on mp3 forum, I would like to hear too!

thanks one more time, friend!

Thanks for all comments about this song !

But i´m posting again to give a detail I forgot about this recording :

I record, mix and master this "3 acoustic guitar tracks" (even the final "downsample"),
in 24bit/176khz , on a Maudio audiophile 192.

Ciro

Nice touch on this. Took a great tune and gave it your feel.
