Eu mesmo
Hi friends!

I´m listening here a lot of versions of some great old songs.
I record "my version" today. It´s a very beautifull and known song of Beatles (White Album), "Blackbird".
I did an Instrumental version ("small version"), playing with two different acoustic guitars, both with "old" strings and miced on a "non tradicional way", (only in bridge region and above, no mic on neck).

Hope you enjoy ! (and hope that the link works...) :)

Ciro, that was fantastic!!! :)

Thanks, TRUE , I recorded yesterday, after hearing a Rick Sheppard acoustic version for an old song too that he posts.

Ciro :)

Sounding pretty good to me. How did you record and process this? Very nice sounds man. It's clean.

That sounded awesome!! I love the creative license you took with those flourishes on the melody line. Your guitar playing sounds expressive and controlled at the same time. Hard to do i.m.o.. Great job! :)

Thanks, DOGMAN>
I record rythmn acoustic with a Yamaha Folk, and the solos with a Washburn (thin body and thin sound too, but I like it), then to a more "fat sound" I use only 1 mic, at bridge point and "above my head".I use my MXL 2003 "Philgood/Gus mod" mic passing through a Behringer (yes :D ) ultragain 2200.

Don´t use no eq on recording and mix process, try to find the best sound with micing. But uses some reverb and a stereo delay (only solo channel) and compression (all tracks).

When "mastering" ,I apply a Multiband compressor and more a stereo delay plug in.(and a little eq on highs in mastering too).

SUPERBEATBALLER:

I like a lot this album and this song, and as is "on my head", the "flourish" appears naturally.

THANKS !!!

WOW! That is AWESOME! I had no idea you played acoustic that well. That was just fantastic. I'm downloading this, and I almost never download anything even if I like it. Good stuff, CIRO.

Really cool version of this song!I especially liked the phrasing of the vocal melody on the solo guitar, gave this song a kinda happy almost be-bop/jazzy feel, while to me, the original song with McCartney's vocal was kinda melancholy or sad.Great job...a very enjoyable listen!!

Very nice, Ciro

I really like the interpretation of the melody on the guitar.

I've been learning this song in the last year or so myself. It's such a great song.

Good sounding recording as well

Thanks for sharing.

Dude! That was freekin' TASTY!!!!!!!!! :)

I'm making a copy as well!! Awesome!!

You've got some chops man! Good sound too! What mics were you using?

My father was born in Brazil. He was going back a couple of years ago but then backed out. Too bad, I was gonna go with him!

Hey, Philgood, Thanks!

As I said to Dogman (take a look on messages),

I use my MXL 2003 with mods you suggest me!  For use on acoustic, that´s the result, which I like too!!! The mic is much more "fat" and better now.
Well, my pre is a crappy behringer 2200.It´s a harsh pre in "all frequencies", but my solution was micing all the guitars with only one mic and on bridge (on solo ,above).

Thanks, one more time!
