I was listening to metallica when you were in the crib. To say that Black Sabbath was not as inovative as metallica as in your original post is ignorant:mad::p

I'd also have to say that as a band BS is more diverse. You can always tell metallica because they have become generic unto them selves.

There are lots of bands that need to share the credit either way you slice it.

(8) Honorable Mention to AC/DC and Ramones for their contributions.


That's it........... THOSE are the bands that made metal.

Anything that came after these originators, such as Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath and Anthrax are a WHOLE different animal. These bands took the melody out of the music, added speed and double-kick drumming and created there own genre lacking all of the qualities that made the aforementioned great metal bands the ground-breaking, standard-setting, influencial bands they still are.


But that's just my narrow minded, judgemental meaningless opinion!!

Without Black Sabbath, there probably is no Metallica, or a lot of other Heavy Metal Bands
 
They all contributed alot to metal (erm.. not Bon Jovi though), but I personally don't care who Metallica have influenced. Call it a sacrilege if anything, I just don't like them.

James Hetfeild cant sing, their song structure sucks, Kirk Hammet uses a grind for tone, They just rip off a bunch of awesome Motorhead songs and play them really fast with terrible sounding equpiment, their danm snare drum goes BOOOOOOIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGGGGG and the only thing they ever did worth half a fart was enter sandman and then Pantera got awesome and they started crying on tv and holding each other and made a crappy album. THE END.
 
...and who forgot to put Led Zeppelin on this list...who do you think every band on the list was trying to be like anyway:rolleyes:

I don't know about the other bands but i don't think black sabbath tried to be like led zepplin. But what's bon jovi doing up there? :confused:
