OK... Had a little time to do some fine tuning of the song used in the 3D video... And realized I'm almost numb when it comes to listening the song yet again... lol

I'm hoping you guys can hear what I'm not anymore and give me a fresh direction...

Pick away!

:)

Bitter Pill

Hey Rabbit.. Good sounds.

Upon first listen, the guits seem just a tad on the high side to my ears(not even sure why I think that)..but the tone is killer. Love that dirtiness and sustain you got going on in and out throughout the song.

Are you using a Tube Screamer?

More listening...

The rhythm guit just sorta drops out at :30...2:06..5:08..behind the verses..they come back up but that few seconds it seems you lost your train of thought...just sounds out of place to me.

The lead solos are slow, sultry, dirty and get dirtier as they speed up. Love that tone you got!

I like to hear a bit more crazy on the outro as you start getting on...gaining volume to a peak-out with some sustain instead of drop-deading it...but that's just me.

I think the drums and vox could come up a bit in the mix and the bass some definition..or not...well, I dunno on that one. One minute I think they could, the next it I don't.

*true picking*..pick..pick..pick...pick...*enters rabbit*..WHAM! WHACK!! BOOM!...:D:eek:

You did a good job singing...kudos Dave!

P.S. I missed the first mix with the video.

Thanx True! :)

The guitar work that i did is just through a little V-Amp... I forget which setting... I just pushed buttons until I liked the sound ;)
The main lead was my friend up in Port Townsend WA... He always gets a great tone... Anfotan did the octave-up riff coming out of the solo... Tony can fill you in on his tones there I'm sure.

Because the main riff carries the verses, I didn't want the guitar and vox battling, so I sidechain the guitar to duck down when the vox come in... Still seasoning the balance to taste on those tho... ;)

I'm a bit self-conscious about my singing, so I probably pull the vox back too much... Same with the drums, except I'm usually guilty of having them too prominent so I probably tend to overcompensate sometimes :o

The video is here if you wanna watch:

Still tinkering on that too...

Thanks for the kind words True!

:)

I think the drums sound a bit too dull and the kick a bit too boomy, BR. The lead guitar kind of dominates too much in the verse, maybe it should come down a bit. It sounds Ok when you play chords though. Voice sounds very good and the guitar solo is really nice. I think the song's very good.

Joey :):):)

Thanks Joey!

I was relistening again after tinkering and I agree... Something got messed up in the drum mix...

Thanks for the confirmation, I can revisit that with faith that I'm not just being paranoid now ;)

Hey BentRabbit, I really like your singing! It gets stronger as the song goes on. A bit timid to start, but from 1:00 on it sounds GREAT.

Very cool song in general. Improving the drum sound would really solidify it. Nice job.

Thanks for the listen! :)

Looks like I definitely need to revisit my drum mix first thing when I'm able to get back to this one...
