Van Halen

I think Van Halen's sound isn't dangerous at all, he has nice distortion, but all the phaser/flanger/chorus/wish washy crap really gets annoying, and takes away any edge to the sound.

The Biggest most dangerous guitar sound I ever heard is on the song "To bring you my love" by PJ Harvey I belive it's off of Rid of Me but I can't be sure. There is this chord that is struck once may-be twice that is the most gigantic thing I have ever heard. It will Knock you to the floor.

I think I will agree with the earlier mention of "Heartwork" by Carcass.
Super Heavy and widely accepted (at least at one time) as the holy grail of tone in the underground metal community.

I think the most dangerous sound is the one coming from bands of the 80's that had 5 high 4x12 cabinets, one of those could fall on you and really hurt.

I've been listening to "Revelation of Black Moses" by Vader, and "As above, so below" from Behemoth. I have garnered much wood from these two. I love polish death/black metal

Oh yeah, a third for Carcass. IMO, many good tones, even on Tools of the Trade, which is less than stellar recording quality, and of course Heartwork....

I'm a big fan of change and I'm not a real huge fan of them where I'm gonna have to be worried with what they think is gonna help them achieve a certain sound. I'm not really with you on your douchebags statement. Most narrow-minded people that I know like to exclude large groups of information or stimuli based on a very small exposure to something similar. It's really cool how we can exchange opinions on this messageboard with a basic understanding of humor and sarcasm being a regular thing. But, hey! They're on tour with Megadeth and Dillinger Escape Plan. I'm gonna try my damndest to get into that show! I've never seen Dillinger Escape Plan live, and I've been meaning to.

I voted for AC/DC but if Tom Verlaine in Television was an option I would've had some thinking to do. Then again the drum sound sucks on most Television stuff so that makes the guitar sound good just in comparison.
