Well, I'm finally going to get one, should be here on friday.

woo hoo !! :D

I'm green with envy! Let us all know how it works out for you!!

Beyer ribbons rock. No experience here with the 160, but I own the Beyer 500n, which is a ribbon mic designed for vocals (I think Frank Sinatra used this mic), and it's really sweet. Works wonders on thickening nasally voices. I sometimes use it in conjunction with an MXL V77.

Is the M160 a step up from the M130? I've been thinking about an M130, it's in my price range new.... How is the M160 different from that?

Well, the M160 is hypercardiod, and the M130 is figure 8, together is will be M/S heaven.

M160 was used for Led Zeppelin's When the Levee break -drums. Jumi Hendrix on the cab.

Not that I'll be using it for the above.

Congrats Tonio. I love mine... it's a great mic with a very sweet detailed midrange and rich low end. What pre are you going to use with it?

Tim

Thanks Tim.

I'll be using the Grace 101, and soon to be had a JH M-1. :D
