So whats the difference of the two:
M201M and M201TG? The Tg is the only one at Beyers site so its predecessor is the M model I'm guessing.

Any thoughts, opinions on the characture between the two.

Is the dreaded, the older is better?

You mean the 201N?

I have both. Unfortunately I don't yet have a mic cable with a female Tuchel connector at one end. But I've heard the only real difference is that the TG (Tour Group) model was designed to be used live as well as in the studio.

Note: There's also a 201N(C), which I believe has a bass cut switch.

Yup I guess that would be a N ,thanks.
So it has a odd connector eh? Any difference is tonal characters?

I'm not the one to ask (seeing as how I lack the aforementioned connector). I hope not.

I don't know... but, the Beyer M201 is my favorite snare mic.

The bottom line is, whichever version it is it'll be well worth getting. ;)

Thats what I hear-well from people (BB' s etc.) I actually haven't
heard them yet -Supposed to be smooth on the high end?
I know I shouldn't refer to freq sheet , but it looks kinda flat for
dynamic mic.

Well I already have a 421, e609, d2, Ev408 in the locker. But for
@200 ducks should add another color eh?? Any comparisons?

One of my absolute favorite mics, in any version. Great rejection, a clean, smooth sound, and terrific transient response.

kinda like a 421, but a little thicker in the bass. it has a nice even bottom... with a pretty decent proximity boost.

That's what I wanted to hear!!!
Thanks

I was just wondering if anyone had a comparison with the Beyer Ribbon and the Royer Ribbons. Im thinking about getting a Royer so i would like to know characteristics.
