Hello,

I wanted to know if there is an easier way to connect all my gear.
I currently use a ADA-mp1 and another MP1 modded, G-Major, Intellifex, BBE 482, Peavey Kosmos Pro, VAMP pro bass, EQ in both my Guitar/Bass rig, but also use it for my home studio recording based on the AKAI DPS16.

I wanted to connect everything in a way that I do not have to unplug/plug/unplug everytime I have to use something for either the Guitar, Bass or Recording......

I'm about to add a GTR-4000 to this rig and get rid of the Intellifex...

Please help....

Yeah, but I want to leave everything connected and not change anything. All I want to do is switch an effect on/off and route it without unplugging it...

A patchbay should do that for you. You still have to setup the patchbay and plug in your equipment, but after that you just work with short patch cables on the front of the unit to establish any combination of effects you want. The hardest part of the patchbay is deciding what type of configuration (normalled, 1/2 normalled, etc.) makes sense for your application, labeling the front so you can read it, and finding short patch cabes.

I've heard of the "Switchblade"....

What do you think about that?

Try a search for "Switchcraft" patchbay or take a look at Markertek.com. You will probably need a switchblade, however. Switchcraft is fairly expensive. You might also look at ADC and, if money is tight, Dbx.

I have these two pieces of gear that I haven’t really spent any time with, but one is a Rockman Octopus midi effects switcher, that lets someone switch analog stuff with midi controls, and the other is an Art X15 midi control unit that can control maybe up to 3 midi devices. I can’t tell you much about them as I haven’t checked into them myself…I just happen to have acquired them, but you could check them out on the internet.
