I was wondering if i should sell my BR to get the VS. I know the VS is 24bit which i do not think the BR is.

I looked around, on the official site, and other sites, and there is no mention of the birate for the 1180. Since there's "secrecy" regarding that info, I assume that the 1180 is not 24bit. If it was, they'd tout it like it was gold.

Recording on the BR1180 is 16 bit. Internal AD and DA conversion as well as signal processing (ie the mixer) are 24 bit. I easily found all the specs on this machine before purchasing it... Online.

i use the vs 1880

i moved up from the vs880ex, which was 20 bit.

i could hear the difference going to 24 bit.

the vr-1180 is really marketed for a different level of recording, that being said, the 1880 is really an old model...

and the newer boss stuff is getting real good at incorporating all the best of the bigger model units..

that being said, the 24 bit does sound better.
