both have sonar 3 and live next door what is the best way to ship it between computers for easy collaboration- and what do you do when projects are bigger than cd capacity

You got many options here lopie...

1. Save the project as .bun, and burn to CD.
2. Save the project using "folder per project", burn both project file and wave data folder into CD. This way, if the wav data is bigger than CD capacity, you can divide the data into two or more CDs. In your partner's comp, put the whole wav data back into same folder.
3. Next door, eh? LAN !!!
4. If both PC has internet connection, then upload the project into temporary server on the net (may need to sign up on public server), for your partner to download.
5. I bet moskus will say... get DVD burner!
6. It's not preferable, but doable. Use removable HD on both PC. Last time I checked, the casing slot is as cheap as $5.
7. Get the whole PC to your neighbour.
8. Tell your partner not to be lazy. Get his ass to your studio, do his part on your machine on Friday evening. You two love red wine, don't you? :D

Set up a wireless LAN for a couple of hundred bucks. No more mucking about transferring hard drives or moving PC's.

That's the nicest solution, but at 12 Mbps, it's not the fastest.

For larger files/projects a removable HD would be quickest

Then get Wireless LAN on 54 Mbps. I did. It works and it's problem-free (as close to problemfree as you can get). :)

Heh. OK that's gettin better.

But I reckon on a 1GB project, I could save it to an external disk, whip it out, sprint over next door, whack it into his machine and open up the project, quicker than the 3-odd minutes it would take to get there over the LAN.

Plus all that exercise I'm getting...it's just win win
