Hello,

First post here. I need some help building a 3 channel DJ mixer with one goal: have the best possible sound quality. It's easy to find good phono stages. However, my mixer will need to have a 4 band EQ (+6/-26dB) per channel. Let's say something similar to this model (which my friend has):
A&H Xone:62

What is the best known, no-compromise way to implement a 3/4 band EQ (+6/-26dB) in a channel?
VCA?
No gain, only passive attenuation?
Transformers?

I would even go as far to say that cost is of relative importance only. This is an "all out" project.
I currently use Ecler Nuo 3.0 mixer for DJing and Copland CTA-301 for music listening. I would like to bridge that gap with one solution.

Please let me know. Thank you.
Herman

Can I suggest that you sign up at GroupDIY.

You will probably find that more designers (both amateur and professional) are active over there than here at HR, and you'll probably get a lot of info quickly.

thanks

Will do that.

Other suggestions also appreciated!

Why would you need 26 dB of attenuation? Is that common in the DJ world?
