i just saw a pair of JBL 4311's go for around $300 on Ebay, and a pair of JBL3412's for a little cheaper....just in this last week.....a three way 12" setup that will kick the booty out of any current *project studio* monitor on the market now. Personally, I think all the stuff on your list is just a bunch of glorified toys with 6" woofers...gimme a break!! Use those on the list for your extension speakers on your patio.

Monitor speakers should be mainly chosen for accuracy not "Grunt".
If you monitor "Near Field" the last thing you require is a pair of 12" woofers booming down your ears but maybe some people get off on that ( probably explains why they are deaf).
Listen to the Behringers they may surprise you (or not)

I'd like to hear the Behringers...are they officially released yet?. I think the JBL's are pretty damn accurate, however...but, admittedly...they have a couple of humps in them....but if feel they are more useable than the budget small monitors.....and.. before the NS10 rage, I think you'd have seen more 4311's in pro studios than ns10s. (that doesnt mean anything though!!) I boast on them, only because I have had a pair for the last 20 years:D ....no recones...etc. maybe they're due:confused: hope not:eek: I am probably listening just past the stage of "nearfield", with them about 10 feet apart and I'm almost back that far too. I listened to some Mackies ..824...and they where accurate, i guess...but lacked any beef. I've stood in front of my share of Marshall stacks (I still own my 8 x 12 ampeg v4 stack), and I feel my hearing is still holding up well...age is doing a trick ...before abuse, that is. The whole subwoofer rage is what people "get off on".......but, I like a little air moving, and the 6" cones can't reproduce past 50 hertz either...

no throat jumping here:D ... just that I think a little manufacturing hype with all these speakers is entering into the playing field a bit. and yeah...I guess I like 'em loud once in awhile...they at least have the capabilty to do so to check mixes at higher volumes, unlike da 'lil guys!! peace:)

I'm looking for some new monitors, what do you think of the JBL 4410's? There are some on ebay.

Thanks,
Ian

yeah..I saw those. if they go for the current asking price, they'd be a steal. I imagine they would go for about twice that. I'd opt for the larger pair of 4311's that are on Ebay now too. They'll probably only fetch around $300, which to me is a great price. ..and you see them only getting that a lot of times too....and, alot better value than a pair of $200 4410's, imo. I think you would be very happy with a set of 4410s however.
