Best sounding album you have ever heard?

The new Barenaked Ladies albums are very well done. Nothing ground-breaking, no innovative use of the studio as far as I can tell, but it is mixed very well, all of the instrumentation sits nicely... sounds good :)

I'll second Animals by PF. Also, I really like Wildflowers by Tom Petty. I can't imagine it being mixed any differently.

Any album by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Id say either White Pony by Deftones or 13th Step by A Perfect Circle for production and mix quality and the music is right up there too!

Amazing, isn't it? It was done basically 'live' and only on 8 tracks!

It does have an amazing sound. Pretty overlooked in that genre, I'd say...

Its so primitive yet very effective, the balance of the mix is just perfect to me, the guitar sound is just awsome, same with the bass.
And I think Ozzy`s vocals never sounded better.
Fave track is sleepin village, that main riff just hits you.

Best Guitar, bass and drums album I`ve ever heard. :)

Metallica Black, Ozzy's No More Tears, Fear Factory's Demanufacture and Sepultura's Roots. That's it, whatever anyone else says it's crap.

N.I.B. ............. :D

All Jimi Hendrix stuff, Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon, Robert Johnson's stuff, Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde, The Beatles Revolver, Sex Pistols NMtB

im gonna say
Zakk Wylde: Book of Shadows
just listen to "Sold My Soul" the acoustic sound is by far the best acoustic sound i have ever heard, its just mind blowingly good. I dare you to tell me im wrong seriously take listen it dosnt even sound like a traditional acoustic, I wish i could figure out how to get that sound- sorry bit of a rant there

I also love "the division bell" by pink floyd especially "Marooned"

interesting

i think in terms of modern music, i really love how "plans" came out by death cab. i also really appreciate transatlanticism.

as for older stuff... jawbreaker's "unfun" is brilliant... the drums are so warm and full and the guitars are absolutely natural.

heh, and well, i just love the original static age sessions from the misfits. great vintage recordings of completely raw music.

Without a doubt for me Blood On The Tracks by Dylan.

The acoustics and sonic space on the whole album knock me out whenever I hear a song from it.

It's like the band is in the room with you positioned just so for max effect.

I'll give ya rep and agree, that's a great album, sonic-quality and the music... before this turns into a "I hate Dylan's voice" thread :)

Depeche Mode - Ultra, Dr. Dre - 2001, Bonnie Raitt - Fundamental, Marylin Manson - Mechanical Animals.

For the exception of Depeche Mode. These are not my particular taste of Music. But.........I read somewhere that these are great reference CD's. So, I bought them solely for the purpose of serving as my reference CDs. I try to make my instruments sound like their instruments.

Let see how many brave souls are out there on this BBS. Munich Machine - Get on the Love Train. I defy some one to say that it is not a well recorded track. Nevermind the style of music, but the quality of the recording, arrangement and production. :D
