But best for what?
SDCs come in many varieties:
omni, subcardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, bi-directional
bright
mellow
flat freq response
good off-axis response
hazy off-axis response
smooth transient response
clanky transient response
$30?
$2000?
Best bang for the buck is Naiant.
Best mics, price-no-object - DPA, Schoeps, Josephson, Neumann, others, but again, many varieties for specific applications.
But best for what?
