got's to mention ANT BANKS for too short, Also did hitz for the Luniz, dru down, spice 1, Dangerous crew, rappin 4tay etc
just think of all that tight ass Oakland funk Bass
E-40 has a stinky funk oozing out of his studio, also B ligit, Celly cell.
Cedric Singleton CEO from Black Market Records has some tight gangsta sh*t, AWOL comes out with nice beats especially Lunasicc, These are nothing like whats on the radio and I got's to give it up for Sacramento artists....
I never understood timberlands stuff, I always try to make my tracks playable live, meaning at anypoint, If I wanted to, I could go assemble a band, and play the song. Timberlands stuff is all off beat and non flowing and too cut up. Maybe because I have played an actual drumset for 10+ years, both funk and Metal, as well as pop style, and have been into producing rap for only a year or so.
Did anyone mention Eric B and Rakim? I think they deffenetly rank up there with Guru and Premier (gangstarr)
and Are you kidding?? Puffy puff? I want to state it here first that he should be Arrested on charges of Music Abuse. How can he say he's even a producer, all he did was take old hit's, sample them, add in a lame simple and repetitive drum loop, and get some sloppy slurring rappers to re hash old lyrics with some new, and put them out for the public. It only sold hella in the beginning because it sounded familiar, then Biggie died, and who is the only one left to take the credit (not to mention the money)
Easy E's stuff tword the end was hella good, producers Rhythm D and Big Hutch aka Cold 187um are the true originators of G-Funk , not Dr dre, allthough Dre's sh*t is bomb too
Adding Eightball And MJG because they deserve to be heard
