I'm sorry but I wouldn't even count him as a good artist let alone a good producer. I not even sure that he falls under the catergory of producer. What has he done for anyone else that was super hot? To be a producer you must produce for more than you and your group. Sorry!
dr dre- nwa, chronic, doggystyle, chronic 2001,eminem etc
timbaland- aalyah, missy, ginuwine, petey, bubba, magoo, etc
trackmasters- r kelly, nas, foxy etc
battlecat- snoop, eastsidaz, etc
Personally, I like timbaland because his creativity seems to be copy-protected because I don't know if there is anyone now who can copy it. (or even come close) Timbaland has changed the game and should go down in history. I also like dr dre. I feel that his newer material is not on the same level as the old material but I guess that clinton lawsuit has kept him from continuing to use those funk samples he stole. But I still give him all the credit, because he made the game.(even if das really did make all his old beats he got the credit) Nobody was making any real money before dre came out with nwa. Before that and the chronic, record companies didn't think that rap could go 5x platinum. After dre, then the money started coming and it shows in the videos.
I do like a couple of songs by the neptunes but I do believe that they will fade out or fade in and out like darkchild. Give them two years. Once, you get hot, people jump on the tip. But look, even cash money has lasted three or four years and I thought that most of their production sounds like my Fagio keyboard, but they're still here so.
I love battlecat. I think he is where dre was ten years ago as far as creativity levels. He is very underrated. And so are trackmasters. Trackmasters make some of the most classic beats, the kind that most people wouldn't usually dare to make.
Also whoever makes trick daddy's beats. If he makes his own then yeah. I still wouldn't call him a producer though, just a good beatmaker.
