I'm looking for a few good preamps to add to my home studio, under 500 dollars preferably. So what do you guys think?>
 
If anyone has any other suggestions that are not on this poll, please throw them out there as well.
 
I voted for the GA pre-73. Love it. Don't know if it's "the best," but you will do no wrong by buying it!
 
That's kinda how I feel about it, I haven't heard anything bad about them.
 
I like my Furman RNP for a nice uncolored general use preamp
 
I didn't even know that Furman made preamps. That's interesting, I just knew them for making power conditioners.
 
i put my vote in for the Focusrite ISA one; super clean, really sweet sounding pres and a lot of functionality. the box design is a bit frustrating for rack mounting but i'm guessing they know their market and have aimed it as being a home recordist first "step up/upragde preamp" so the desktop design is useful in that respect. i'm currently saving like mad to pick up the ISA Two; less features but the preamps alone are so nice that another two in my setup would be a god send
