Best Passive Pickups For a P-Bass

ive been looking around. EMG's look pretty good. what do you guys have to say about it?

i dont wanna do all that work for actives, i like my passives.

and what all work as to be done to change them? should i try it or take it somewhere, and how much would that cost?

i havent heard of that kind....they expensive?

cuase like you said, why put money into a bass if you could save up and buy a better one...

while im thinking of it....i wanna buy random bass parts on ebay, put them all together, put some pickups in it, and im set.
 
actaully, I am under the impression that Bartolini's are quite affordable. I will take a gander on the net to see if I can find them.

I haven't looked at pickups lately, but I thought EMG's were ACTIVE... not passive.
 
lol yeah my bad....had a brain fart there....but i could have sworn they made passives....ah oh well....

thanks for the links...im thinkin about getting better pickups instead of buying a new geetar...

my bands playing a show in march....so hopefully the band fund will be greater than 25 bucks lol :p

EMG just recently release their passive line of PUPs, check out their website. http://www.emgpickups.com/ The ESP C-305 come with these passive pickups, they have a very warm and detailed sound.
