$120 Canadian is about $75 US......

a Shure sm57 or Marshall MXLv63.......

You can save an extra $10 or so by getting a nice used Shure
545 (or Unidyne III that also looks like a SM57).

Just remembered to mention you need a mixer or mic pre that
has "phantom power" to run the Marshall condenser microphone
that Gidge mentioned. A dynamic microphone doesn't need that.
