Ok, I want to know which Minidisc multitrack recorder is workin' overtime for ya, you know, what unit are ya usin', which one do you feel is best, all that good stuff, yall know what to do!!!!!!!!!
See ya, Steve

Best sound quality-Yamaha MD4S (3.5 ATRAC)
Best minidisc drive & reliability-Tascam 564 (I own this one!)

The sound quality on the Tascam 564 (ATRAC 2), and the others listed
should be the same as they use the ATRAC2 algorithim.

Ease of use and features: MD8. Awesome machine, for it's size and price.

Needs some more tracks, though. Which is why you go for the HD-24! WHOO HOOOOO!

Ooops, just came in my pants. Excuse me.

:D

ADAT's RUUUUUUUUUUUUULE!!!!!!!!

Bruce, if youll Front $15,000 US, Ill go real digital!, Plus that will give me an excuse to take over the rest of the house. Do they make triple tier bunk beads?

Peace,
Dennis

$15,000!!?? Man, you can get a nice set-up for $1500 or less!!

$1500....I paid $1100 for my MD8

I was asking for my first installment! Heh heh....Lets see Mackie Digital desk and Mackie 24 track hardisk recorder and maybe something other than my 3630 compressor...You know the usual.

Peace,
Dennis

I've only ever used the Yamaha MD8 so I have to vote for that one.

more tracks??

hey there! My studio used the MD8 and an MD4 (the older one) until i got the Mackie HDR2496. Since the older MD4 didnt have slave capability, i had to build a trigger that started both MDs simultaneously. It worked for 2 years almost flawlessly. Punching in was a bit of a chore (had to make 2 cue points at the same location and go from there) but after a little proactice, i got good at it. 12 tracks, not too bad. I still use the md8 to bounce old tracks to the HDR. (only thing i dont like is the -10 on the md8....wished it was a +4) just gotta go through th emixer first..oh well.

MD4s

I own the MD4s and paid $500 for it..

Love it .. Good for small stuff. Demo stuff!!!!

md portastudio

I like the tascam, but I'm new. i'd like to integrate md,keyboard, and pc without going to a DAW. ANyone experienced in this area. I'm a novice, be gentle!

hey luther, thats how i started out. If you got specific questions, i'd be glad to help.

connecting outboard eqpt

Need some assistance with connecting a PC, Tascam MD portastudio and a Ensoniq VFxSd keyboard to record multitrack and use cakewalk, Acid, and stopm Cd's. Let me have an address, if possible. Need some ground floor mentoring if anyone is interested. Christian artist.

YO Diminished Z:

Although I still have my MD8 plugged in, I don't use it much since I got my Yam 2816 perking and burning CD's.

There is not comparison in sound quality; the 2816 wins by leaps and frets.

But, when I used the MD8 is was a nice box -- easy to learn and the manual wasn't written in cryptic English, for the most part.

Green Hornet:D :p :p :p

Had an MD8 and loved it - but I sold it. I won't go back to mindisc multitracking again - there's just too many other things out there with way more features and no compression for the same price range.

But the Md8 was a wonderful box to get me into recording.

I only use minidisc for field recording now.
