Those are somenice sounding cans for sure. I find them a little uncomfortable after a while which is the main reason I prefer my Sennheiser HD-600s but the Grados have a very full rich sound to them while the Sennheisers have a bit more 'sparkle'. Depending on your gear and you preferences, the Grados are definitely a strong contender.Grado SR 225's. The best $200 you'll ever spend.
You can get Sennheiser HD-600's fairly cheap since they've been replaced by the 650's. They are definitely reference grade cans but they aren't for tracking since they're open air.
I tried most of the popular recommendations on high-end headphones before deciding on the Beyerdynamic DT831. I was willing to pay almost anything for some ery accurate headphones. These were only about $185, and they seemed clearly superor in accuracy (comparing A/B to the sound of reference monitors).
Anyone have any advice on the best headphones to purchase under $US250? Or maybe I should be spending more...
