I have about 150 to spend on a mic like 100-150 for a mixer and accessories. The mic would be used for Hip Hop music.

**Looking for a serious mic, something that will last, has great sound and is overall a great buy!**

*sigh* This has to be a troll, no one else would be stupid enough to just walk in here and ask that witrhout reading a bit........

I have been reading but none of it really applys to me.

Then you're in the wrong place. Go spend your $150 on a mic and $150 on a mixer and have fun.

You need a lot more money to fill those parameters.

Low Cost Realm

If you are going to record on computer, Go to the Line 6 website and look at the "TonePort UX2 " for your "mixer" selling at about $199. It comes with Ableton Live Lite recording software and has a nice selection of some modeled hi-priced mic-preamps including API, Avalon, Neve, etc as well as a model of the well known LA-2A Compressor . There are a lot decent inexpensive mics in the "up to $200" limit. You'll get as many opinions here as there are available mics. CAD M179, Studio Projects C1, RODE NT1, ADK A-51S DLX, sE Electronics M1C, Audio Technica AT-3035 are some ood ones in the upper ranges ($169-199). There are some decent ones for less such as the MXL V67, or the Studio Projects B1, or the Audio Technica AT-2020, but if it were me.................. ;)
Consider touching base with Warren Dent at Front End Audio as he sells this stuff and is a frequent flyer on this forum. Very knowledgeable and very helpful.
In regards to the comments above, there have been quite a few threads that have indeed discussed this topic many times over.
Use the "Search" Function and type in "Rap Mic" or whatever keywords that you feel will get you in the right direction and you'll most likely be directed to many threads.

I recommend a Logitech headset mic. That way you can hear the song and rap all with the same device. Plus it's only 20 bucks so that leaves you another 130 to go get it gold plated. Word Yo!!!!

you are all some dicks on this forum, thanks for the help!

Um, given that this cheap Hip Hop/Rap mic question gets asked every week, are you sure you can read? No, wait, you've asked a supplementary, what is the best MIXER under $150 for hip hop!!! Don't know, but make sure it's got plenty of bling. If you can honestly tell me why hip hop needs to be mixed on different equipment to any other genre of music, I'll take your question seriously.

Yes, but some are bigger than others, none bigger than the dick that doesn't know how to learn from others asking the same thing.
