i wanna record some rock vocals. The vocals are going to be very loud and i havent had any luck getting a good sound out of my NT1-A. I think a dynamic mic would really add to a glassjaw style vocals.

If you can't afford a $500 mic then get a sure SM-57

Unless you have no reservations about investing a massive amount of money in a mic you really can't go wrong with a SURE SM-57.

might be your preamp, a good dynamic will require a boost

I like MD412s for rock male vocals. As noted up top RE20, SM7 etc are all good.
