what are your thoughts on a beginner like me taking the online course from berkleemusic.com?

some of you have heard my mixes and I need alot of help as of now

I have never heard of it, but I just don't see how taking an online class could really teach/train you or your ear. I think it would be a waste of money honestly.

Hi, Just an FYI: while I can't personally vouch for it's online classes, Berklee School of Music is one of the most well respected schools in the country for all facets of popular music ranging from jazz to pop/rock. Some of the biggest names in the music industry have either come out of there with degrees or have taught there. I have actually thought about taking some of their online classes, which you can actually take for college credits. If you read up on their online site, you will see that you can only sign up at certain times as it's run like a real class, with an actual teacher and timeline with due dates. The only thing that has stopped me is the price- then again, you getwhat you pay for, right?

^make that the World, especially where Jazz is concerned^

I'd say it's worth looking into, but you might be better off getting a "physical" course closer to home for some one2one advice and real ear training.

FWIW, IMHO, $0.02, and all that.

After going to the website I stand corrected it is the best, and agree with this post, as to what I was stating was doing the online classes. I should have elaborated a little more. Now if you do want to do classes for audio you should do physical classes because like I stated in my previous post I don't see how online classes would benefit.
