Strange person.
Has anyone had any experience with/used this mic?
How does it compare to Shure?

Why bother, the XM8500 is a much better mic and to my ears does not lose out much to the SM58 and is still a bargain.

There is one fairly large live rock venue near to where I live (The Tackaroo Hednesford) that uses the Berry Mic for nearly everything.

but what about them?

are those mentioned first, the 3-pack? DOes anyone know how good they are? for au$75 I'm interested!

Enchilada:

Listen to Wilkee---the Behri XM8500 does good SM58 duty (and 57 duty if you take off the ball) and is ridiculously priced---well worth the $3 price difference.

The xm8500 are only $50 (http://www.brisound.com.au/sales/view_product.asp?product_id=366) while the SM58 are $250ish... do they really compare?

I'd say the XM8500 is pretty close to the SM58, but I actually find my XM2000 better on most voices, and even good on a few - even if it's not supposed to be a pure vocal microphone or a SM58-clone.

Probably there's enough variations in the production for these mics to get all sorts of weird results.

I rarely use any of these mics for keepers though...

I love the way this works...

what's A like in comparison to B?
Go for C it's better.
What is C like in comparison to A and B?
Go for D it's better..

(unfortunately, the price often seems to go up also!)

I guess, we're asking the wrong questions..

Thanks.. I like the look of the xm8500..
